Piyavate celebrates the 15th Anniversary under the campaign ‘One Pink Rose For One Young Heart’ joining CCFT to help cardiac children

Piyavate Hospital joins The Cardiac Children Foundation of Thailand under patronage of HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana patronage on the occasion of its 15th Anniversary celebration by funding 15 cardiac children under the campaign ‘One Pink Rose For One Young Heart’. The hospital also has plans to  increase funds covering more cases, for instance, the deduction of 15 Baht from each receipt and releasing the ‘doctors and nurses’ troop to sell roses to various areas around Bangkok from now to December and gather as many donations as possible for more surgery without deduction for the company’s benefit.

Professor Emeritus Boonchop Pongpanich, President of Cardiac Children Foundation of Thailand says that “We are very pleased to be informed that Piyavate would like to financially support cardiac children which is what the foundation is focused on. We would like to see Thai youth have great health and quality of life”.

“Each year, the number of cardiac children increases by more than 8,000 to 10,000. Half of them require invasive surgery while the limitations include the number of cardiac paediatricians that are less than 10 whereas that of general paediatricians is 50 – 60 and is intensified in Bangkok and its suburbs. The opportunity for rural children to have invasive surgery is so small that I think that the campaign ‘One Pink Rose For One Young Heart’ will provide that opportunity resulting in a better quality of life.”

Doctor Boon Vanasin, MD, Chairman of Piyavate Hospital, explains that the objectives of the campaign is that Piyavate is a private hospital that has provided excellent healthcare services for more than 15 years.

“We always think that medical fees somehow limit Thais’ hospital visits,” he said.  “As a result, we intend to join CCFT to help cardiac children to have better health like other ordinary children and to grow up to be healthy and productive adults.

“This campaign is not aimed to only celebrate our 15th Anniversary but also to show our social responsibility and concern by giving back to the community.

“We are determined to start this campaign because we know that there are lots of cardiac children waiting for medical help. Although we have strength in medical service provision we know that the fastest way to help these children is to give financial support for operations. Firstly, we will fund for 15 children for urgent

operation costing 25,000 Baht each.

The campaign also comprises other 2 activities below:

1) The deduction of 15 Baht from each receipt of Piyavate’s medical fee. All patients will receive ‘Pink rose’ hand made by the foundation’s members.

2) From now to December, the volunteer doctors and nurses will sell the foundation’s pink rose at 15 Baht at BTS Sky train stations, office buildings, activity areas and leading department stores. The sales will directly go to the foundation as supporting funds for further operations for as many cardiac children as possible nationwide.

“I wish the campaign could be the starting point for everyone to realize the priceless ‘gift’,” said Dr. Boon.

“And from now Piyavate’s doctors and nurses will visit you. What we ask is to buy a 15 Baht rose giving new life to children. All donations will not be deducted for the company’s benefit and will be directly sent to the foundation by December”, he added.
