Our fertility clinic physicians often propose blastocyst culture for couples affected by male infertility or female infertility photo: We use Preimplantation Genetics Diagnosis to analyze the genes and chromosomes of the embryo before blastocyst implantation to determine which embryo is the best and ensure it's completely normal

For couples affected by male infertility or female infertility, the physicians of our fertility clinic often propose “blastocyst culture”. Blastocyst culture is currently the most advanced infertility treatment available anywhere. Patients with tubal blockage, severe pelvic adhesion, endometriosis, male infertility or unexplained infertility are good candidates for this infertility treatment. A fertility specialist uses in vitro fertilization (also called blastocyst ivf or external fertilization) followed by embryo culture for 5 to 6 days until it reaches the blastocyst stage. The mother-to-be is then prepared for blastocyst transfer to the womb. Blastocyst implantation in the uterine wall is done by the infertility doctor and the pregnancy begins.

Preimplantation Genetics Diagnosis (PGD) is an advanced technique we use to analyze the genes and chromosomes of the embryo before blastocyst implantation to determine which embryo is the best and ensure it's completely normal. At the blastocyst stage, the embryo has developed two types of cells – fetal cells and placental cells. The infertility specialist does a “Blastocyst Biopsy” which microscopically removes some placental cells from the blastocyst while leaving the fetal cells undisturbed. The biopsy placental cells will be stained with specific-color gene probes to make the diagnosis and the best, normal embryo will be selected for blastocyst implantation.

photo: Women over 35 have greater risk of recurrent pregnancy loss, unexplainable in vitro fertilization failure and having kids with chromosome disorders or chromosome abnormality causing birth defects

Women over 35 years old are good candidates for this treatment because they are at greater risk of recurrent pregnancy loss, unexplained in vitro fertilization failure, transmission of X-linked or single gene disorders and having children with chromosome disorders or chromosome abnormality resulting in birth defects such as Down Syndrome.

Prenatal Diagnosis, Prenatal Testing & Prenatal Checkup

The Perfect Woman Institute provides comprehensive genetic counseling, screening and diagnostic testing. Prenatal diagnosis employs a variety of techniques to determine the health and condition of an unborn fetus. Our patients benefit from our expertise and advanced medical technology, including nuchal translucency (NT) screening -- a new, non-invasive test performed early in pregnancy to identify increased risk for Down syndrome and other birth defects. With the knowledge gained by prenatal diagnosis and fetal monitoring, our doctors can help ensure proper fetal development and a positive outcome for both fetus and mother.

There are a variety of other invasive and non-invasive techniques available for prenatal diagnosis and prenatal testing. Each can be applied only at specific time periods during the pregnancy for best results. The techniques employed for prenatal diagnosis include:

  • Highly precise 4D ultrasound
  • Chorionic villus sampling a.k.a. CVS (invasive biopsy placental cell test during 10-13th week of pregnancy to detect genetic diseases)
  • Amniocentesis (invasive test during 15-20th week of pregnancy for fetal chromosomal disorders, such as Down syndrome or genetic disorders, such as cystic fibrosis and Tay Sachs disease and includes test of amniotic fluid to detect neural tube defect such as spina bifida)
  • Fetal-Maternal Erythrocyte Distribution Test a.k.a. Kleihauer-Betke Test (invasive test to determine the amount of blood that has been exchanged between the mother and fetus)

Laparoscopic Surgery, Gynecologist Services & Hormonal Therapy

The Institute provides early cancer detection, physical exams, checkups, and other general women's health care services such as hormonal therapy and surgery. About 90% of commonly performed gynecologic surgeries can now be done with minimally invasive techniques such as laparoscopic surgery. This type of surgery causes significantly less post-operative pain, allows quicker healing and a faster return to normal activities.

If you experience hormonal imbalance symptoms, hormone replacement therapy can effectively improve your quality of life. Hormonal balance therapy can prolong youth, strengthen your body and fight aging. It is especially helpful for middle-aged women, elderly women, and women suffering from acute symptoms of menopause, such as hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, increased fatigue and irritability, depression, hormonal skin disorders, vaginal dryness and incontinence. Hormone replacement therapy also provides some long-term protection against cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis and colon cancer.

Our highly qualified doctors and well-trained nurses welcome the opportunity to provide you with warm, heartfelt care. Let us help you create a secure and healthy foundation for you and your family. Contact us for more information.
