Liver Cancer is the most type of cancer found in male, and the second in female. It is the fast process type of cancer with death within 3-6 months.
Causes

Cause of disease includes 2 categories, which are
1.1 The cancer emerging directly at the liver (Primary Liver Cancer), which is most found in Thailand for 2 types;
1.1.1 Hepato-cellular Carcinoma, which is found in every part of Thailand.
1.1.2 Cholangio Carcinoma, which is mostly found in Northeast.
1.2 The cancer spreading from other part of body (Secondary Liver Cancer), such as intestine and anus spreading to liver.

Risk factors relevant to disease such as Hepatitis B, Liver Flukes, chemical instances, some kinds of medicine such as pesticide, toxin from fungi, toxin from preserved foods, liquor etc., malnutrition, immune system status, genetic qualification, and other factors relevant to environment.
Symptoms

Bored with food, dyspepsia, and constipated.

Weak, weight-loss, mild fever.

Ache or pain at right-hand-side costa border, lump may be touched.

Symptom of body and eyes yellow, stomach and both legs swelling.
Diagnosis
Diagnosis and treatment of liver cancer is generally successful in the first pace. However, there is not much symptom of preliminary liver cancer, the risk group should see the doctor.

Diagnosis by puncturing for defining the level of Alpha-Fetoprotein, which is matter produced by Hepato-cellular Carcinoma.

Diagnosing tumor in the liver with ultrasound, x-ray computer, MRI magnetic wave, or injecting matters into portal vein.
Treatment

Surgery is the best wish for completely cured patient, but it is appropriate only for not too large tumor and the liver is still working well.

Chemo-Embolization is the way to minimize the tumor.

Injection such as alcohol into the tumor via skin is suitable for small tumor in which cannot be operated.

Chemotherapy is used to relieve the symptom which cannot be completely cured.

Radiation is also used to relieve the symptom.

Prevention
-
Do not eat foods with fungi; beware of dried foods, including overnight cooked foods.

Do not repeatedly eat same kind of foods, or foods with preservative.

Do not eat half-cooked foods such as sushi and raw fish, because of possibility to cause Liver Flukes, preserved foods such as pickled fish and salted pork etc., in which consist of Nitrosamine – the liver cancer cause.

Eat clean and newly-cooked foods.

See a doctor in case of unusual symptoms.
