Male to Female Gender Reassignment Surgery
Male-to-female sex reassignment surgery is a surgical procedure to reshape the external male genitalia to resemble female genitalia, using specialized surgical techniques performed by highly skilled and experienced surgeons.
Male-to-female transition surgery is divided into three types
- The normal type (Penile skin inversion) involves creating a vagina from the skin of the male genitalia.
- The penile skin inversion scrotal skin graft method involves creating a vagina from skin of the male genitalia combined with skin of the scrotum.
- The sigmoid colon + penile skin inversion method creates a vagina using skin from the male genitalia combined with the intestine.
