Liver Health Check with FibroScan Technology

"FibroScan" technology
- Screening for liver fibrosis and measuring accumulated fat.
Reduces the risk of complications compared to liver biopsy.
Strength
- Easy to check, quick, and get results immediately.
- The examination takes only a short time, just 5-10 minutes.
- It causes no pain and poses no harm to the body.
- You can go home immediately after the test.
- In cases requiring close monitoring, the test can be repeated multiple times and is safe.
The working principle of a fibroscan machine
- ใLow-frequency waves at 50 Hz, using the VCTETM (Vibration Controlled Transient Elastography) technique, are introduced into the liver, and the reflected waves are measured using high and low-frequency sound waves. If the liver is hardening, the reflected sound waves will travel faster, resulting in a higher measured value. The unit of measurement is kilopascals (kPa).
- Liver fat accumulation can be measured using the Controlled Attenuation Parameter (CAP) method. Low-frequency sound waves are introduced into the liver tissue, and the resistance is measured. A higher fat accumulation in the liver results in higher resistance, with a higher reading measured in decibels per meter (dB/m).
Globally, more than 25,000 people die from cirrhosis every year. Even those who are not heavy drinkers are at high risk of developing this disease. Screening to assess liver fibrosis and the amount of fat accumulated in the liver using FibroScan technology reduces the risk of complications associated with liver biopsy. It's a non-invasive and painless procedure. Early detection can help prevent the progression to cirrhosis and liver cancer.
Who is at risk??
- People at risk of hepatitis.
- People with fatty liver disease, diabetes, and abdominal obesity.
- I have a family history of liver cancer.
- Drinking alcohol for a long time.
- The test results showed liver abnormalities.
